Recap -- January 2016

Instead of posting this early of the month, I decided to do this end of the month to recap all the memories created during the particular month. *creative idea..nah!*

January is a very slow and longest month ever..31 days in a month are a lots, although other months have a day lesser. One day did make a huge different in most of the things. Paycheck, working days, working hours, etc.. you know what I mean. >.< and this is the month whereas everyone recovering from long holidays' mood, and nothing seem to be productive.

January is always a month for me to do resolutions for the entire year which I did earlier in my planner. Planning resolutions for the year is fun! I tried to set goals and targets which are more realistic and achievable, I was tired of reading back unfinished resolutions end of the year, every year.

I'm so busy this month. School projects and classes took me few hours daily. And two tests within two weeks! Crazy! I came to realize that time management is very important. Managing time is not easy, yet not difficult either. All I need is a skill!! I always wonder how some peoples managed to come out with fruitful results, and each of us have 24 hours a day yet I faced so much obstacles to finish all the tasks given. Time Management, gonna conquer you!

I was being invited by Ken to attend his company's annual dinner and dance at Shanghai Dolly, Clarke Quay on third weekends. I love attending such a huge event, I got dressed up in decent new dress and did a full makeup which took me an hour to finish. We never got lucky to win any prizes in the lucky draw, but we got two door gifts -- intelligent sport bracelets in neon green.

In the same weekend after the D&D, we registered ourselves to watch Changi Millionaire's live show in Changi Terminal 3. Such a nerve-wracking afternoon! Seven finalists and only one winner can go home with one million dollars. Linda Tobin from British walked away with that bulk of money, she's such a lucky woman. I believe she's living in luxury life now.. I wonder when's my turn to be that lucky?

I've been little occupied doing "shopping" too this month as the following month is Chinese New Year. Shopping is always fun and my favorite activity. Girls' best therapy ever!

What've you done this month? Do share with me, I'm interested to know too..

Review: Eruca - Japanese Botanical Oil Haircare

Recently, I've received a whole range of Eruca hair cares from Sample Store.. *i'm such a lucky girl*
I always feeling excited to try out new brand of beauty products and this time, I was beyond ecstatic to try out Eruca, which is the new brand from Japan.
Eruca utilizes 12 different types of botanical oils that provides a luxurious and thorough clean while being skin-friendly. The focus has been on seed oils, providing nature's "silicon-like" effects but without the harmful effects of silicon itself. Seed oils from broccoli, cowberry, bilberry, milk thistle, etc are the hallmark of these moisturizing and shine-inducing formulas, while the blends also contain other rich botanically-sourced oils such as argan, virgin prune and marula oil, which help rejuvenate tired tresses.

There are three ranges of Eruca hair cares:

Scalp & Volume
-Botanical oil extracted from specially selected seed oils help to restore balance to your scalp
-Moisturizing hyaluronic acid repair the scalp and alleviate common scalp problems
-All-natural botanical oil extracted from cowberry seeds and billberry seeds help to revive & restore your hair and scalp

Moist & Repair
- Hair defining formula restore water and oil balances in your hair & scalp for frizz-free hair
-Luxurious argan oil, virgin prune oil and marula oil help to make hair more manageable while being gentle
-Does not strip natural oil from your hair

 3D Volume Up
-Solicon-free formula cares for hair and scalp
-Volumizing ingredient creates volume from roots without use of harmful hair products
-Botanical oil extracted from broccoli seed and cranberry seed moisturize and cleanse hair and scalp
-Clarifies hair without stripping essential oils from scalp

My review & results:
I tried each of the range and really loving all the results given. I have very very oily scalp throughout the day and I have to wash my hair daily, everyday. My favorite range in Eruca is Scalp & Volume, whereas this range help to restore back my scalp & hair and reduced the shininess caused by oily scalp. After washed and conditioned, I will used the oil mask to treat my scalp and hair roots too. After 3-5 minutes, my scalp felt refreshing as the oil mask gave the minty sensation to my scalp. Mot important, every ranges gave such a great and floral scents whereas I can't stop smelling my hair!
Beside that, I used Extra Volume Up Foam after each wash (use on dry hair) to give my hair extra voluminous finish and as a treatment formula. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who have thin hair. The scent of the foam is awesome and my hair did got slightly volume up after each used. Oh, no rinsing needed!

How to use:
Just use the right amount of shampoo for your hair length, lather, rinse and apply conditioner.
*Tip: if you have short hair, use only small amount of shampoo (about the size of a 10 cents coin). 50 cents coin size for average length and two 20 cents coins size if your hair is past your shoulders.

Where to buy:
Guardian and Tokyu Hands. Also available in E-store Maimee's Corner
Free sample at Sample Store (temporary out of stock..)

Reading Challenge 2015 - Done!! and to reading challenge 2016

If anyone close to me may knew that i don't read much and i don't even develop the habit of reading. Curiosity always stroked me whenever i noticed some people reading books while waiting for bus/train, or in those fancy cafes with fresh-brewed coffee displayed nicely on the table. Ken always encouraged me to read ever since we dated, i never took it seriously.

Last year..after stalking a few bloggers and influenced from Ken, i started to go on with my reading challenge. First ever reading challenge to finish 5 books in a year. 5 books are too little for some, but as a slow reader/newbies..I thought I was good with 5.

Fast forward into 2016, I finished 4.5 books last year..I didn't manage to finish the 0.5 before 2016 arrived but I finished the balance 2 days ago. Bravo to me!

I have so much feelings about reading novels. They gave me so much space and freedom to imagine the story lines and the characters in those stories. And I definitely felt satisfaction when I managed to finish till last pages. Felt like a winner! woo...
5 books read:

The Guest List by Melissa Hill
P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
The Sweet Spot by Stephanie Evanovich
Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovich
Hey Natalie Jean by Natalie Holbrook

This year - 2016, I set another reading challenge for myself.

6 books in a year! Each book every two months..*come on, I can do this..*

p.s. currently i'm starting with How To Fall In Love by Cecilia Ahern

Welcome 2016!

Hello 2016!!

I was being a very lousy blogger last year, which i have disappearing from blogging world so often that i was too confused!! Last year was great but totally out of the track and schedule.

As today is the first day of 2016, I would love to start new and do it all over again. As prove, I even went to Typo and got myself a planner/diary to jot down all the activities, ideas, inspirations and notes for this year. To spice up the energy, some cute stickers are being used too! According to my sister, stickers are banned for those age 30 and above in our family. And I was born in 1985..go get a calculator and start counting my age. I don't even bother to follow her rules and totally violate them.

so, cheers to the 2016!
