neutrogena // ultra sheer sunscreen protection

as i stay permanently in sunny singapore, i should say i'm lucky that i got to enjoy sunshine almost everyday and can visit beaches almost every weekends. everything come with pros and cons, right? sunshine is beautiful yet harming to us too. i can't leave my house without any skincare and sunscreen protection, as i believe "beauty begins with healthy skin" and always dreaming of porcelain skin.

early this week, i was being introduced to try neutrogena suncare products. neutrogena is such a popular brand that i've seen it since years ago.

neutrogena is the #1 dermatologist recommended suncare brand in USA and is one of the few brands in singapore that boasts suncare protection for both face and body.

neutrogena introduced helioplex technology that contains FDA-approved sunscreens covering the full UVA and UVB spectrum. though many sunscreens offer protection from UVA rays, this protection starts to break down when skin is exposed to the sun. helioplex prevents this from happening by stabilizing UVA protection so that even under highly intensive sunlight, i still can be assured my sun protection does its job more effectively up to 5-6 hours.

well, how to choose the right sunscreen for ourself?

it is important to make sure that the sunscreen offers long-lasting, stable protection against both UVA and UVB rays. the sun protection factor (SPF) and the PA rating measures the protection against UVA & UVB rays respectively.

sun protection factor (SPF) - is measures how long you can stay in the sun without the sunscreen before getting burned. for example - applying a sunscreen with SPF30 means it will take 30 minutes longer for your skin to get burn. SPF protection alone is not enough as it measure the protection against the sunburn caused by UVB rays only - not UVA

PA rating - a sunscreen with a PA rating means it blocks UVA rays. the more the "+" signs it has, the higher the UVA protection. protection against UVA rays is important because UVA rays have a longer wavelength and they penetrate deeper into skin, contributing to premature aging and skin cancer.
neutrogena ultra sheer dry-touch sunblock with SPF50+ can be use on normal to sensitive skin. this lightweight sunblock is waterproof, sweatproof and rub-off resistance. don't worry that it may clog pores as it is non-comedogenic and oil-free. i noticed that dry-touch sunblock solution is thicker than ultra-sheer sunblock which is definitely great on face and body with alluring fresh scent. i even noticed that it gave whitening effect to my skin too! dry-touch sunblock is a must for my outdoor activities now :)
neutrogena ultra sheer complete uv waterlight lotion is my last step of skincare regimes and first step to prepare my skin before applying makeup. non-sticky and non-oily texture did gave me easier job in spreading my foundation without leaving "cakey feeling". compared to dry-touch sunblock, i noticed that ultra sheer have ultra lightweight and watery lotion which easily being absorbed to my skin. i start to love this product so much now :)

so girls, let's us keep our skin healthy by getting the right sunscreen protection. please use sunscreen daily even on the cloudy day as up to 80% of the sun's rays can penetrate into light clouds, mist and fog.

-"keep calm and love your skin"-

I used to be adamantly against sunscreen because I didn't like the way it felt sticky on my skin, but what's worse is the burning pain you feel once you get sunburned! Last Sunday my school had an all-day event outside, and the following day I went with my friend to a drugstore to get aloe vera after sun gel, and we ran into a lot of people from our school who were doing the same thing :P Anyways, thanks for this post! I will definitely be referring to it throughout the summer :) -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
