my beauty diary // black obsidian moisturizing black mask

i heard a lot of positive comments and reviews from friends or blogger about "my beauty diary's mask" and never really tried it out until i found imperial bird's nest mask from sample store. i did a review on the mask too and the results was amazing!! from that day onwards, "my beauty diary" have became one of my favorite masks in this beauty universe. recently, sample store gave me a chance to try out newly launched "black mask"..which i definitely said yes!
gentle introduction for my beauty diary:

my beauty diary, the no.1 facial & eye mask brand in singapore has just gotten even better! with its improved formula, features & packaging, the enhanced mask range now features a uniquely patented ingredient-cosphingo with long lasting moisturizing property for improved hydration, enabling the skin to feel soft and supple like baby's skin. free of harmful paraben preservatives, alcohol, mineral oil, pigments and fluorescent agents, these masks are safe for use on all skin types including sensitive skin.

recently launched its new black mask range featuring three equisite variants-black obsidian moisturizing, black rose brightening and black peral total effect black masks.utilizing mystical black ingredients to help eliminate skin pigmentation, unevenness and loose skin caused by uv rays and environmental impurities, the deluxe black mask series helps to restore uneven skin tone, enhance skin elasticity, leaving your skin rejuvenated, deeply moisturized with dewy radiance.
black obsidian moisturizing black mask suitable for normal skin types & especially recommended for skin requiring intense hydration and illumination
nourishing, hydrating, moisturizing and illuminating

rich in trace elements and minerals that restores healthy skin, french black obsidian helps support the skin's protective mechanism and enhances the skin's hydrating power. the infusion of laminaria digitata and sugar maple delivers intense hydration to the deep layers of skin to improve dry skin texture, revealing renewed and brighter skin. enriched with numerous soothing ingredients like calendula officinalis, licorice and ruscus aculeatus extracts to relieve dry, rough and irritated skin, the mask is also rich in bladder wrack seaweed, aloe vera, and hydrolyzed jojoba for improved hydration allowing skin to feel optimally nourished, revitalised with glowing luminosity.

3d hyaluronic acid and yeast compound
the unique structure of the 3d hyaluronic acid forms a protective film over the skin to replenish and retain moisture, preventing dehydration and allowing skin to stay deeply hydrated. yeast compound helps tighten and regulate skin tone, effectively soothes fatigue skin in just 15-20 minutes to reveal a glowing, youthful and velvety smooth complexion

conforming black sheet mask material
with refined tailoring and texture characteristics, the black sheet mask material provides the perfect fit that conforms not only to your facial contours, but also your neck area, offering optimal adherence and comfort fit you deserve.infused with essential essences to deliver instant nourishment to your skin, this mask simultaneously eliminates impurities in the pores, yielding porcelain, shine free and silky smooth skin.

my reviews:
*please ignore my eye-bags*

this is my first time trying out black color mask sheet, kind of scary at the first moment. before that, my skin was quite dry due to staying in air-conditioning room for long hours. my pores were huge too..after trying out black masks (i had used 3 pieces already), i felt skin was very nourished and moisturizing. amazingly, my pores were getting slightly smaller after first mask.and my skin seem to be brighter than before too. my biggest concern when using a mask is whether the sheet mask big enough for my "big face"..and my beauty diary did a great job in providing sheet masks that sufficient enough for my face and even for neck too. after the application, the remaining essences absorbed well to my skin and i don't feel sticky feeling at all. i will definitely repurchase this mask again.

where to buy:

retailed at the authorized retailers such as guradian, sasa and watsons at $16.90 for a 5-piece pack.
now also available at

readers can "like" MyBeautyDiarySG on facebook here to get to try the black obsidian moisturizing black mask first-hand by redeeming samples in a "group redemption deal". valid only for the first 1,000 fans who participate in this group deal, the deal would only be unlocked once 1,000 entries are received. each will receive a single piece pack of black obsidian moisturizing black mask, worth $3.95 each.

thankful lists for the week // 13

*image from toms*

i don't know why but i really lovin' this quote and the view a lots!! this beautiful quote managed to give me some positivity since this week is a blur one,i have been hallucinating a little, oh that's sound crazy. but i'm totally fine. i guess i'm just too tired from traveling past weekend. this week is a mourning week in singapore. few days ago, singapore's politician/first prime minister had passed away from sickness. everyone are feeling miserable and grab opportunity to pay the last respect to him before this sunday. he was a great man!!
mister's aunt is very sick now and currently she's staying in hospital. she kept on saying goodbye to everyone and we have to go kuala lumpur to visit her tomorrow. our express is tonight, 8pm..and will reach kuala lumpur early tomorrow 3am. that's a long journey..and we will be back again on sunday's evening. wish us have a smooth journey :)

for the week, i'm thankful for:

-kentucky fried chicken (kfc's restaurant), i have being craving for their bucket rice in curry flavor for sometimes. and i had been talking about it to mister almost everyday, ended up he had to satisfy my craving. i really enjoyed my dinner that night :)

-exercise session in my room. i bought a yoga mat last few weeks and one evening i decided to do some simple exercise in my own room. though my room is pretty small, but it's definitely enough for a yoga mat. mister recommended this video to me..watching the exercise was easy, yet it was superb hard and tiring to follow the instructions. my thighs had been in a pain situation for 2 days now.. lesson learnt, never look down at any exercises. never try, never know

-my casio's watch. this guy have being serving me for more than a year now, and i still think it's the best gift i ever got from mister. although the battery life didn't stay long and i need to change the battery once in few months, i still love casio so much.

-my mum, my queen. last week,i showed her a piece of my blouse and asked her help to sew the same design for me. she immediately said yes and will sew few pieces in different colors. i was so touched by her words..she always try her best to fulfill her daughters/sons' needs without asking for any returns.she's my idol.. and she knew how to sew!!

-my coworker. she went to india for two weeks, and since her departure i have been missing her. during our working hours, both of us always tend to chitchat while doing our jobs. we always thought that silence may not be the most efficient way to do things. we talk about everything..every.single.thing.that.happen.daily.  she returned to her workplace on monday, and we have being updating each others about everything for that two weeks almost every days till now

-piggy bank. tell you a secret, i make my own target. my piggy bank savings will all goes to shopping funds. or perhaps a pair of melissa. i guess it will be fun.

do you have a lists too?let's us be thankful..even to the littlest and simplest things.

my childhood memories // 01

some day ago, we had this conversation while i was hanging our laundry

mister: in which age do you think you're the happiest?
me: *silence mode as i was thinking*....
me: you first..
mister: age 25, that's when we got registered as husband and wife
me: *i was so touched by his words although i pretended it was normal*  hmm...
mister: what about you?
me: childhood, maybe before 12 years old
this conversation making me started to try to rewind back what memories i had during that childhood moments. and there were a lots pictures/scenes that came out from my long lost memories recently. i have a really happy childhood..i have 3 younger sisters and 2 brothers. as an eldest, i carried a lot of responsibilities in taking care of them as my parents have to work very hard in order to feed us, six monsters. there were so much benefits as an eldest, i got the "power" to order my siblings to do the housework, to bully them and to control them. i guess they kinda hate me that times..
my childhood memories:

1) coming back from church, being barked and chased by pack of stray dogs

this is real funny!! when we were young, my mum encouraged us to attend church services. our church have those special classes for kids to learn drawing, writing and reading bible. me and my siblings used to take their shuttle van when the classes done as the transport service was free of charge. yet,the driver only dropped us at the junction of the road, which we had to walk another 50 meters to reach home. unfortunately there was a house beside the junction whereas the owner raised a few stray dogs..and they had too much energy that those dogs love to chase and bark on us. as a kid, we were terrified and ran as fast as we can without turning back. we screamed, we shouted for help and we ran!! my mum will of course rescued us from the front house..and all of us will started to cry when we reached our safe zone.. until now, i still scare of dogs. this animals definitely not my friend.

2) our childhood game was the groom and the bride

we used to love to stay overnight in our grandparent's house during weekend. my grandpa will bought packets and packets of sweets for us while our grandma will cooked delicious meals for us and cousins. since young,i wished to have a huge and glamorous wedding. hence, our game every weekends was "wedding game". i will instructed my cousin (who was one year younger) to be my groom while i was the bride. my siblings and other cousins will be the musician and the audiences, and they must clapped their hands when we walked the aisle. to be a "real bride", i even used towel to be wedding veil..that was so much fun! believe me,i never got bored with the game.

3) we fought with each others using brooms and throwing plastic chairs

i believe every families with siblings did fight? we did actually.. our weapons were brooms and plastic chairs. don't worry,no one hurt in the process of our mother (queen of the house) will always came out from kitchen to rescue everyone.

4) our queen's punishments

my mum is a very strict & fierce woman and she always hope the best for us. but me and my siblings went through those moments whereas we don't want to be control, we wanted to watch cartoons whole day, we don't want to bath, we don't want to write our homework, we wanted to be outside cycling whole days. yet, our beloved queen will always punished us with either belt, plastic clothes hanger or canned us.
we will ran and hide before she found the weapons or we will ran while she tried to catch us for the punishment. sometimes, she will get too tired from running and catching, and she will started to laugh funnily. but don't got fool by her, she laughed doesn't meant that she was alright..she will continued catching us once she got her energy back.

5) matching matchy outfits

we are from middle-class family, which meant my parents' income were enough to cover our schooling fees, meals and all the utilities only. we seldom shop last times..we only bought our new clothes once a year before chinese new year. my mum used to attend sewing class, she sew most of our dresses and outfits. and she always love to mix-and-match our clothes between siblings. most of the times, me and my siblings were like twins except that i looked slightly older and they looked younger and shorter. i never complaint anything about our matching outfits..i thought there were cute!

what's your childhood memories? i would definitely love to read yours..

thankful lists for the week // 12

*instagram @joselovincolors *

this week have gone by pretty slowly except weekend. early of the week, i had seen blurry views and i thought that my contact lenses caused all those blurry visions as i had been wearing the same pair for almost a month..ended up those haze from neighbor's country have being passing by singapore again. now,air purifier is my best friend. my nose is too sensitive to stay outdoor now. my parents came to kuala lumpur on mid week to help my sister to move and clean her new apartment. me and siblings always look for our parents whenever we need help, and our old folks are the best adviser in the house. mister and i booked bus tickets and visited them on weekend. it was fun and productive weekend.

for the week, i'm thankful for:

-go ginza nail polish by essie.i'm always looking for nice pastel colors for my nails. and i fall in love with "go ginza" the moment i saw it and immediately have to make it mine. this soft pink definitely is my current favorite nail color.

-weekend with my parents..always the best!

-black mask from the beauty diary. thanks to sample store, i have opportunity to try out new launched products. i had tried out black mask few nights ago and the results was awesome! i'm going to post a review for this beauty product soon, so stay tuned.

-homemade pineapple biscuits from my mum is a superb woman! she can cook, bake, sew, diy, etc..she's my hero. she even can made pineapple biscuits, and it is yummy! yet, her daughter never get any potentials from her..too bad :(

-indian food. on wednesday, mister and i rode our bike downtown hoping to find the chicken rice's stall that one of the local blogger introduced.yet, we forgotten that wednesday was off day for the chicken rice's owner.quite disappointing, we went to search for other restaurants and accidentally passed by an indian shop with fully occupied tables and chairs. with so much customers eating there,we guessed the food won't be too bad. mister ordered masala thosai and i ate vegetarian rice set. it was yummy, but little bit too spicy for me. food adventure is fun and mysterious too.

do you have a lists too?let's us be thankful..even to the littlest and simplest things.

thankful lists for the week // 11

instagram: joselovincolors

this week have being passing superb fast. my colleague went to india for 2 weeks, which mean i have to help in answering all the phone calls in behalf. to memorize this history, i had being answering almost 100 phone calls from various human beings since early this week. all the inquiries and phone calls had being making me superb busy and talking non-stop on the phone. not complaining here, just to jot down what had happened for the week. and i'm lovin' this week's activities which some of them had been captured and posted in my instagram. recently, i noticed that instagram have slowly becoming my personal diary. with all the photo-editing applications, i can easily captured the scenery or food in an exclusive and unique methods which i'm addictive with. and i had being checking my instagram feed every 5 minutes, uncontrollable action. someone out there having same issue?

for the week, i'm thankful for:

-fresh strawberries from cold storage's supermarket. i can't say "no" to strawberries, that's would be too cruel!! strawberries are the most beautiful and delicious fruit in this universe and i definitely living eating strawberries all day,if i can afford that. for me, strawberries are the pricey fruit and a punnet of 500 grams sometimes may cost more than $10. lucky me,i found bargain prices in cold storage few days ago, 2 punnets for $9.90..i save 10 cents and i ate extra 500 grams.

-coffee's time with mister after work. we seldom drink coffee during evening as i won't be able to sleep well at night after the caffeine intake. but on that particular evening, i was so in mood for coffee's break..hence we passed by starbucks and got ourself honey white chocolate macchiato, and a slice of rapsberry cheese cake.sounds fattening! we sat in a corner sipping macchiato and chit-chat a little about our future, our current life and our friends.this was such a relaxing talk ever.

-yami yogurt. after a few days break from cold food (menses cycle) finally mister brought me to yami yogurt to satisfy my need. after a week of tension, ice cream is the best choice to comfort me. to the ice-cream inventor, i owe you a thanks.

-saturday's date. most of the saturday, mister has to work. but this saturday, he was granted an off day. we utilized this day for a date to sushi, movie, shopping and dinner. sakae sushi has the best chawanmushi ever, the egg's texture was soft and bouncy while the ingredients were fresh. we choose "chappie" as our date's movie. chappie's poster did not interest me much as i'm not into science's thing but since mister watched trailer before and commented that it was good trailer, we bought the tickets. the movie was interesting and i definitely recommend you to watch in cinema/download/buy a dvd

-mister. i'm glad that i found someone who can interact and stay with my craziness whole day..we found a small advertisement in the train when we were on our way was from mcdonalds, contest of photo shooting with the burger and post in instagram with hashtags. whoever have the most likes will win $50 voucher from mcdonalds. for someone like me who love freebies and vouchers,i think we must enter the contest. mister supported and volunteered to act as a model on winner is announce yet but no matter what's the result, both of us enjoyed our time so much trying out all the crazy and funny posture

february favorites 02

february favorites

i didn't do much beauty shopping on february. instead, most of my beauty products are the products that i had being using since years ago. and definitely are a must products in my routine too, hope you enjoy reading :)

johnson's baby wipes

there are different brands and types of baby wipes selling in the markets, but my first choice will always goes to johnson's baby wipes in pink packaging. i tried other brands too but nothing can beats johnsons's as this wipes enriched with moisturizing lotion and has the mildest and softest fabric. please don't misunderstand, i do not use this as a potty wipes (hahaha..), i use baby wipes as a pre-makeup remover before cleansing my face with makeup remover cleansing cream. my sister used to think i was crazy for removing parts of my makeup by baby wipes, but after gentle introduction and influences, now she starts her own pre-makeup remover routine too. beside removing makeup, i brought along baby wipes all the times in my bag. you can see me using it for hand wiping, cleaning my table and etc which is superb awesome!

lactacyd feminine hygiene

i think every girls or women should own a bottle of feminine hygiene in their bathroom cabinet. i use hygiene wash all the times during my bath, not because my intimate part smell (well,i hope not) but i felt much more confident in myself after the wash. some may thought that they can use body wash for intimate part, but who know..i won't risk anything that may cause irritation.
lactacyd feminine hygiene is formulated to help maintain pH balance in the intimate area to keep it healthy and fresh all day long

artistry polishing scrub

i scrub my face 3 times a week to remove dead skin and to improve my uneven skin-tone. it contains hydrogenated jojoba beads that gently exfoliate my skin and leaving soft and supple skin. the most important is that the jojoba beads are small yet enough to do all the exfoliation works pretty well.

what's your favorite beauty products from february? let's us be beauties!

thankful lists for the week // 10

this week had being pretty boring. mister was outstation to vietnam since monday and gladly he returned home friday's night.he was quite worn out from this trip as he had being working non-stop with his boss and japanese's clients. meanwhile for me, i think i did pretty well in being an independent woman. i didn't lazed too much to get up for work as i worried i will miss the bus, i did my own protein shakes, i went to gym, i settled my own dinners. ya,i quite independent without mister by my side. this week is a confusing one. the sun had been shining out daily in the morning and raining really hard in the evening, i was quite confused with singapore's weather that i can't predict what will happen next. the best solution, i brought along my rescue-umbrella. :)

for the week, i'm thankful for:

-opi's rapid dry top coat. i love love love nail polishes but i hate sheet marks. who doesn't right? i have being searching for a right top coat to do the work and finally i found opi in local drugstore. the price is affordable when i thought of the results, and i tried it out with my favorite color, etude house play in #05. today is the fourth day and i'm seeing none sheet marks, no chipping and color still maintaining well. i'm glad to say that i'm a satisfied user

-monday wasn't as blue as usual when i wore flowery dress. colorful and flowery dress made me felt fresh and energetic though monday was the day that mister flied to vietnam. i got a lot of compliments with this dress :)

-my favorite soup is from the soup spoon. their soup's aroma, the freshness of the ingredients and the taste are the winner and captured my heart to have their soup my favorite soup are vegan miso red rice stew and meatless minestrone. and their takeaway container is superb cute too!

-mister traveling in safe flight with singapore airlines..yes,i'm thankful for safe flight and smooth journey back and forth to vietnam. and thankful for safe traveling by car in between a town to another during this business trip..

-my families. my elder sister is in korea for vacation, my elder brother is traveling to taiwan now to do some voluntary work there. hoping all the best for them..though i'm kind of worry my brother will survive well in taiwan as he can't really understand chinese much, although he had been learning ever since months ago. but he gave me confident that he will live well, i will have faith in him. good luck bro (if you happen to read this post)

do you have a lists too?let's us be thankful..even to the littlest and simplest things.

palmer's skin therapy oil for face

when talk about palmer's, my first impression is this is the brand for pregnancy and stretch marks. i heard and read tons of reviews on how this brand helps pregnant women to overcome stretch marks and itchy skin. and i thought that palmer's did a very good job in solving those problems. recently, when sample store reached me to try out skin therapy oil for face, i was quite confused and did a little window shopping on this product. little did i know, palmer's actually have plenty of products not only for pregnant women, but for men, hair care range, lip care range, body care and etc..
gentle introduction for palmer's skin therapy oil:

their #1 formula, cocoa butter formula, is one of the palmer's key offering in its wide range of skincare. toady, palmer's is still committed to creating affordable products that really do work, growing to provide a palmer's product for every skincare need: hand and body care, stretch marks care, hair care, body care and personal care.

using nature's richest, most luxurious ingredients, palmer's key ingredients include cocoa butter, shea butter, extra virgin olive oil, palmer's has created a palmer's product for every skincare need.

palmer's is against animal testing and all of the products are cruelty free. majority of plamer's products are free of parabens, phthalates and sulphates.

my reviews:

when i received palmer's skin therapy oil, i knew i will love it. firstly, i'm a supporter for cruelty free, i can't bear knowing animals had being tested in any products that i use currently. secondly, when i read the description that ingredients added were vitamin c, e and retinol, i was sold immediately. all of these ingredients used are superb beneficial for our skin and i can't wait to start using it. this is my second day using skin therapy oil, i used it as a night cream before i went to bed. it has a slight rosehip fragrance in it and the scent relaxed me a lots, a lots! during application, my face seem to be quite oily which i need to let it absorb into my skin layers..and i used this little opportunity to do face & neck massaging for about a minute which making the results better 10 times than just normal application. the results were so visible that my pores were getting smaller and uneven skin tone have improving too. i was extremely shocked when i saw myself in the mirror as my pores seem to be quite visible before that. and i decided to let my mum to try out since she has wrinkles and her skin is superb dry. in conclusion, palmer's skin therapy oil for face is so good that it is multi-purpose skin perfecting dry oil for face and neck.

evening walk at macritchie reservoir

few weeks ago, i was rushing for deadlines for projects and presentation and final exam's revision too. the tension and pressure were in the highest limit where i believe if i don't relieve all those negativity, i will gone crazy. since i had being eyeing to go macritchie reservoir for days, i took this opportunity and rode our bike to this place for an evening walk. durations from home to reservoir was quite easy and fast.

this was our first time visiting macritchie reservoir and i was extremely excited as i saw lot of joggers running and exercising, families and children playing around laughing cheerfully and happily in the play area and us watching and admiring all the mother nature's creations.

macritchie reservoir is the oldest reservoir in singapore. the attractions in macritchie reservoir is definitely suitable for those outdoors's lovers. along our walk, we passed by monkeys' families and squirrels where they were lingering around waiting to be fed and tortoises relaxing and lazing upon the surface of the reservoir. oh, and the water in reservoir is so clear and clean that we saw lots of seaweed and marine algae in the reservoir bed. and we managed to catch sunset too!

able to spend time with the love ones is so great! i'm appreciating every moments that mister and i together whereas we talked to each others, listening to each others and trying to understand each others too.

and here, a few photos from our evening walk in macritchie reservoir (we only able to explore quarter of the place)..

second dress for second day of chinese new year

as we only stayed in my in-law's place for three days only, i managed to snap second piece of my new dress. this day, i drove my in-law to visit her brother and in the middle, mister and i went out for tea-break with his friends and grabbed ice-cream too.

while for the dress, love at first sight did happened. one random saturday (after half day working), i walked around in a random shop called "cache cache" and found her. she was hanging in a corner where no one will ever noticed, yet since i was in a "shopping mood", i flipped all the racks and passed by each aisle, and we met each others.

i love the lace details and the cute collar..even mister agreed with that too.definitely one of the cutest dress i ever own.

my reviews:

as i stayed in air-conditioning room every hours, my skin have became drier and drier each day without me realizing them. i'm such a lazy woman that i seldom apply any of the lotion/moisturizer on my skin until i realized my skin on the leg's area had became flakier and drier than normal. therefore, i choose to use ultra healing which is for extra dry skin. the moisturizer is creamier and richer than other lotions. after application, i have to let it absorbed to my skin in a few seconds or else i will felt sticky. after absorption, my skin felt rejuvenated and my flaky dry skin started go off their way..and the scents, it is truly amazing and relaxing! this is my fourth night applying ultra healing moisturizer and i totally falling in love with it..
how to get it:

available from mid-febuary 2015 at leading supermarkets, western pharmacies and personal care stores for $8.90/400ml
