Korean Beauty Review: Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet - Rose

As you might know, I'm a huge fan of sheet masks. A good one, though! I always open to explore different brands and type of masks which suited me the most and definitely share with you all :)
Today, I would love to share sheet mask from Nature Republic. First impression for the name of the brand giving me huge confident in using their products as "nature" means "good for skin"
(*in my opinion though*)

From Wikipedia - Nature Republic is a cosmetic brand utilizes natural ingredients for their products. Their brand's philosophy is "A Sense of the Beginning" (Hmm..quite impressive!! Love their philosophy)

From some random website - Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet Rose contains Damaks Rose Extract that provides clear skin tone, helps to moisturize and revitalize skin. The sheet mask with three layers of cellulose provides essence penetrates deep into skin and increases skin absorption potential.

After washing the face, apply toner to prepare the skin for the next step of skin care. Open the pouch, pull out the mask and place on the face, using the eyes area to align correctly. Remove after 10-20 minutes and gently pat for better absorption.

Tips from myself: Refrigerate mask for more cooling effect
Leave for 30 minutes if your skin is dry just like me :(
Remove the sheet mask from chin to forehead to prevent skin sagging

Let's take a minute to adore how beauties is this packaging.. when I first saw the packaging, I fall in love immediately. The colors are so vibrant and refreshing. I know, I might be crazy for loving the mask's packaging but first look is always the most IMPORTANT!  There are two parts of languages at the back of the packaging - Korean & English. They give clear instructions on how to use the mask.

The rose scent is too strong!! It lingered around once I opened the packaging and the scent still available even after 30 minutes. I felt as if I was pouring roses-scent talcum powder all over my face, definitely not a big fan of the scent. If you're into roses, then this is for you. Though, the sheet mask fit me decently. The size of the sheet mask is pretty huge which I have to do a little folding at the corner, but bigger is always better than smaller. I've no complaint on that :)

First impression, I'm really loving the packaging..a lots! I think Nature Republic did such a great job in designing pretty packaging. In fact, I think most Korean brands did very well in designing cute packaging. I like the size of the sheet mask as not many sheet masks suits my "big-sized face" well. But not the scent though, it's too strong that I almost suffocated with the smells (too exaggerate!)

As you can see from the before & after below, there was not much improvement in my skin after using the mask. My skin was dry in the "before" photo as I stayed most of the time in air-conditioning room, but as promised the mask did gave moisturizing effect to my skin. There is no brightening effect here and there was not much changes in pores size too. After removing the mask, my skin felt sticky due to the leftover essence on my skin.I tried to wait for few minutes to let the essence absorbed into my skin, yet the stickiness was still around that I have to wash it off.

-give moisturizing effects pretty well to my skin, as promised
-the sheet mask fit perfectly, although smaller-face might need to do little folding
-the packaging is cute!

-the rose-scents is too strong for my liking
-no brightening effects
-no visible results in minimizing the pores
-the leftover essence cause stickiness

No... I don't like the stickiness from the leftover essence and I think the scents is too strong for my liking. I may try out other scents from the same line, but not rose again. If you're the one who suffer with dry skin, this is definitely a sheet mask for you.

I purchased the product from Hermo Singapore during their 612 Anniversary for SGD1.00 only.
The sales is over but currently Hermo selling the sheet mask for $1.70/ piece.

Korean Beauty Review: Petitfee Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch

"Our eyes are the window to the soul"

Have you ever heard of this quote before? Have you heard someone said that our eyes did reveal our age too? I'm 31 (sshhh!) and I never really like people asking or discussing about my age. Recently I started to notice that a few fine lines appearing around my eyes area. I freaked out a lots about this issue. I started to search for advice from Google and saw lots of positive reviews about Hydrogel Eye Patch. So, here I am planning to try out this product..and I found Petitfee!

According to introduction, it offer your parched skin an intensely hydrating infusion of moisture plus vital nutrients and experience the dramatic firming and cooling results you thought only a professional spa treatment could deliver.
The combination of black pearl and pure gold powder helps improve blood circulation and rejuvenate tired skin and dull eye bags for a brighter and healthier look.

Oh, do you know Petitfee means "Little Fairy" in French? Such a beautiful name..

After cleansing, apply the skin with toner. Use the spatula provided to pick up the eye patch. Apply the patch around the eyes area. After 30 minutes, remove the patch and pat around eyes gently.

Take note: Never use your hand to pick up the products. The gel patches are soft and it's good to keep freshness of the products too.

Tips: Refrigerate patches for more refreshing and cooling effect.
Apply for over 40 minutes for skin in poor condition.

It came with a box with lots of descriptions which most of the wordings are in Korean (and I don't understand). The patches came nicely in a white container with a seal and plastic spatula at the bottom of the box. It came with 30 pairs of patches which if I apply twice a week, it could lasts for 15 weeks!

Unfortunately, the patches have floral fragrances in it. The scent was quite strong the first time I took the seal off and eventually I got used to it.
As this is my very first time using hydrogel eye patch, I'm not too sure the thickness/texture of the patches compare to other brands. But the water-drop shape of the patches did not really matches my eyes shape which left me wondering how to apply it onto my eyes area.

I did noticed there was lots of essence at the bottom of the tub. I guess the essence is to keep the patches moisturize. The patches came in black/slightly dark grayish with shiny and tiny gold dots on each of the patches.

Gold, Pearl Extract, Betaine, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water

Gold - for refreshing skin, keep skin tone healthy and invigorates around eyes

Black Pearl - contains over 20 different types minerals and amino acids for clean and beautiful skin without blemishes

This is my first time using eye patches and I was pretty excited on first attempt. I got confused trying to figure out how to put the patches onto my eyes and eventually found out that both directions will be fine. Once application, I felt minty and cooling sensation around my eyes area. Honestly, it was quite relaxing as if I'm doing spa for my eyes. No tingling sensation for me, which I was released. Yet, a bit disappointed that the results was not visible. After 30 minutes, my eyes bags were still there and the puffiness did not goes away.. I guess I've to use it several times to get exact results. But, I did felt that my eyes area getting smoother and more hydrated than before. I'm quite happy to see that my skin get moisturized a lots! And trust me, your concealer application will glides on superb smooth next day on your makeup time!

*click to enlarge, you may be seeing smoother skin*

-moisturize eyes area very well
-minty & cooling sensation making me feeling relaxing
-affordable price
-good for travel use
-the leftover essence may be great to use as face mask too
-concealer glides on easily the next day on makeup session

-water drops shape didn't suit very well on my eyes
-contains floral fragrance, which may not be good for those with sensitive skin
-the results may not be visible on the first or second attempt

Perhaps no...I might try other series/brands after getting done with this.

Korean Beauty Review: Innisfree it's real squeeze mask - cucumber

I'm a strong believer that great skin starts from a piece of good quality sheet mask. I've tried a lots of different brands, some gave me huge shocks on the amazing results while some did alright. Recently, I've been eyeing on Innisfree's sheet masks and planning to get a few to try out. Gladly enough, I passed by duty-free shops in Changi Airport while traveling home early of the month and guess what? I bought lots and lots and lots of masks for myself. This girl has to pamper herself well. Let's get into what I'm going to review today, shall we :)

A mask containing cucumber extract to provide plentiful moisture to dry skin. Made with moisture-rich squeeze cucumber water, jeju green complex (green tea, citrus, white magnolia, camellia, orchid) and each mask layered with triple-layers sheet for great adhesion and keep skin moist for a very long time. The 3 layered sheet is made from artificial silk, will made the mask moist and the essence provides nutrition to skin to give higher absorption rate to our skin.

After cleansing, use toner to define skin texture. Take out the mask from package and spread evenly to the entire face., avoiding the eye and lip area. Remove the sheet after 10-20 minutes and gently pat to allow the remaining formula to absorb into skin.

Take note: Please be remind that there's still a lot of remaining essence in the package after take out the sheet mask, so don't waste! I poured out the remaining and layered onto the mask, or pat the remaining to my hand as hand cream.

A typical sheet masks packaging, but I totally adores the cucumber's photo on it. And there are Korean wordings behind the packaging, I guess it's about the technology and benefits given from the mask. English wordings are written down too which were about directions & ingredients of the product.

*please click enlarge for ingredients reference*

The mask gave slightest cucumber scents which is superb relaxing to use. According to website, the sheet mask is made from artificial silk which are 3 layered. The sheet mask is slightly thicker than some other masks I used before.

*click to enlarge, you may be surprise with the results*

First impression, I love the size of the sheet mask that fit onto my face perfectly. I have bigger face, some sheet masks may be too small which unable to cover up my whole face..but not this. As per photos of "before & after" above, my skin got really moisturized and radiant after one application. I even noticed that my pores were smaller than before too. The mask also helps to soothe the redness and sensitivity on my skin.

-moisturize & soothe my skin well, as promised
-perfect size of sheet mask for my "bigger face"
-affordable selling price

-the sheet mask is slightly thicker, although this is part of their technology..i'm not huge fan
-there is fragrance in the ingredients, might not suit for those who are sensitive to fragrance

I bought them from duty-free shop in airport for estimated $1.20/piece, while Innisfree shops selling price $2.00/piece.
Otherwise, you can grab from Hermo for $1.60/piece, their delivery service is extremely fast!

Recap -- May 2016

 *instagram @joselovincolors*

Ken and I always thought May is a "month of celebration" and "month of splurging too much $$". You will understand what I meant by reading further..

1)While everyone were enjoying their day off on 1st May, Ken and I joined for charity run 7km in Johor with his friend. He registered us end of April without me saying "yes,i wish to join" and he just pretended I agreed on it. Since his friend paid for the registration fees, I have to obey and we stayed overnight at his friend's place as the event started early next morning. I finished the whole 7kms without complaining and pretty much enjoyed it. The highlight of the event was I got to eat Korean food after the run with his friends. Never knew Korean food can be that delicious after starving for half day.

2)It's my birthday month!! I'm officially 31 years old and I felt that times passed too fast without my realizing it. I felt yesterday I was only 18 and now I'm 31. I feel great to be 31, but what a shame that I never blog about my birthday. I received so much love and birthday greetings from my families, husband and friends. Over the weekend, my coworkers invited Ken and I to play "Xcape Room" in town..which we never make through the whole games in an hour. Ken and I took a day off on my real birthday and we went to Johor to eat and shop a little -- currency attack is real!

3)I did my first road trip from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur with Ken using our own bike! Ken always wish to do this and finally his wish was granted by me. 6 hours journey was tough but some sort of adventurous too. Of course, we did stopped for a rest at the rest stations and grabbed food. During our journey home to Singapore, we visited Melaka for few hours. Melaka has the most historical buildings and arts in Malaysia and I truly hope we can stay overnight. Perhaps, we will do it again next round.

4)30th May was our 9th years anniversary as a couple. We didn't do anything fancy on that particular day as we did a lots of shopping on 25th May (my birthday). But I'm still glad that we survived 9 years together whereas we went through a lots of thick and thin, almost called it off sometimes...but ya, we survived!! Cheers to 9 years!!

5)I went superb crazy with Korean beauty products this month - especially Innisfree & Etude House. Blame "Descendants of the Sun".. all the Korean artists owns dewy and radiant skin whereas I'm envy of. I watched hundreds of Youtube videos to learn how to do Korean makeup and read tons of reviews on Korean beauty products. I added a lot of new stuffs into my normal skincare regime and hoping to do review soon on watch out :)

Recap from previous months - January, February, March, April
